About the Artist
Lilli was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and now calls Sitka, Alaska home. She has been studying art since she was a kid, always choosing various art classes as her electives through high school. In college she double majored in Environmental Policy and Studio Art with a concentration in Printmaking.
Now as an adult, she enjoys practicing printmaking on a larger scale to share with all of you. Her pieces are inspired by the world around her in Sitka and her culture as a Mexican-American.

The Earrings
Lilli first learned how to bead when moving to Sitka and local culture bearers shared knowledge on Lingit beading. She got to learn techniques alongside the local youth she was working with! When she learned the basics, she chose to explore how beading looked in her own culture. She has enjoyed the meditative practice of the circular beading and incorporating her own bold color choices into traditional styles.
